Website Update

Hi all - I had a meeting with our web designer today to discuss the teen webpage. I passed along your input which was much appreciated. If you remember, the template had a feature where you could change the background to suit your tastes - the two styles we saw were a steel look and a camouflage. I have been asked to come up with 6 other design styles and I wanted input from the group. We'd be looking for something that would appeal to teens, not look too childish, etc. - they can be gender neutral or appeal specifically to one sex more that another (as long as there is a balance). Please give this some thought and post your ideas to the blog.

Thanks, Andrea

Hi Andrea,

I haven't heard much about the actual webpage and i certainly don't have any knowhow on the technical designing of webpages, but curse me for having an opinion anyway-

I love clean cut webpages with generic vinal design that enhance corners and keep the page easy to read. yellows, greeens, any neon colours, are, in my opinion, a great eye sore.

Personally the very MPL webpage seems very brick-themed. It has no flow to it and is a clash of links to the eye.

I have some webpages and livejournal pages that i reall love. I have the links below, maybe they'll inspire something??

http://sdlucly.livejournal.com/
(sducly is one fo the most talenteed fanfiction writers i've ever encountered be aware though, that she writes gay fiction as well)

http://community.livejournal.com/theoc_slash/
(she belongs to this community of slash writers who, by chance, also have an amazing layout)

http://gilmore-fiction.net/categories.php
( i love this page...god i'm such a closet fangirl)

http://www.wefeelfine.org/index.html
(We feel fine is an amazing site, created by inspirationl people. Some of the way they've structured their ideas (the dots, mountains fojellow, etc. ) are amazing- it's not that layout or colours im commending them for)

(this one is very girly, but she's so talentedd...gahahah)

Isabelle,

great ideas.

The actual webpage was discussed during the last TAG meeting.

It will be a recurring item on the agenda.

Many of the staff do not like the actual library webpage but unlike some of the other libraries, we do not have our own webmaster.

Our page is maintained through the town which requires co-operation and much patience. They are very good but they have their own priorities as well.

Most of the teen webpages connected with Libraries that I like are from the States.

The beauty of a webpage is that it can be changed and updated as needed.

Catherine
